Final Blog Assesment

My Best 'voice' post was probably my most recent one:

Ok, so... I still haven't exactly finished Allegient and it's been like forever. I loved the first two books and couldn't put them down. Now i'm not very convinced on how much I thought I loved the series. The book changes between the point of view of Tris and Tobias. Before I couldn't put the books down, but now I don't even feel like picking 'em up. There are so many bad reviews on Allegient. Everyone seems to be saying the same thing: the ending is horrible. Well isn't that the whole point of reading a story? That's why you keep reading: so you can find out what happens next. So if everyone says that I won't like what happens next, then why would I keep reading?

Seriously though, Veronica Roth: You were doing so well writing these amazing stories. They were full of suspense and detail. But nowww you have to go and ruin it with the last book. Seriously? The last book is supposed to end the series with a bang. That wasn't supposed to be taken literally. You aren't supposed to KILL the series.

There are so many aspects of my real voice as a person in this post. When I say, " Ok, so..."  it basically describes how I start of every detailed sentence or topic in everyday life. Almost every time I get into a conversation I will ask at least one question, even if it doesn't exactly make sense or its and extremely stupid question. If I could describe my 'voice' in one word, it would be " Seriously?!" This is because I am always either intrigued, annoyed or, well, acting like I'm intrigued. A lot of people don't exactly understand my sarcasm.

I rarely use proper grammar when I am talking in an everyday situation. Which is shown when I say, "Before I couldn't put the books down, but now I don't even feel like picking 'em up." I use the word "'em" to show that I wouldn't usually say them, especially if I'm talking quickly. I also don't use very elevated diction in my voice in real life, or in my writing voice. I use a few elements of syntax as well when I say " nowww..." because I chose not to use italics and instead use extra letters as if I was texting, to exaggerate the word even more than italicizing it could.
I also have a somewhat continued metaphor by taking the phrase " end it with a bang" to litteral terms and relating it to a gun. I do this when I say that Veronic Roth did apparently end Allegient, and the series in general with a bang. But I show that the bang was like shooting the book, storyline and whole plot overall and killing it. That is the way that I show, in my opinion, that the reviews on the ending tell how bad it is and that the ending could have ( according to the reviews) be written a lot better than it was.

Allegient: Not so Great...

Ok so... I still haven't exactly finished Allegient and it's been like forever. I loved the first two books and couldn't put them down. Now i'm not very convinced on how much I thought I loved the series. The book changes between the point of view of Tris and Tobias. Blizzard Bag and Divergent

Ok, so today is the first day that we have had the "Blizzard Bag" days in effect and to be honest I kinda hate it. It feels like 7 straight hours of homework and that's even worse than school. I am writing about Allegient again today ,but I feel like i've repeted myself like a thousand times. I've been thinking about what my topic should be today way longer than I should have been so I just decided to do it about the most intense topic in the last few months. Weather. In my book it is extremely rare that they talk about school and or weather at all. At the very most the author will say one or two things about the setting and that's basically it. I think that's one of the major downfalls of the Divergent series. The books are incredible and you can visualize all the action taking place. The bad part is, you can't really picture where is is taking place as well as what is taking place. That's officially my post of the day. So Veronica Roth, if your're reading this add some serious detail to the setting so the reader at least knows what season it is...

Tris's Choice

Going from a quiet gray area that is based on selflessness to a black cave based on bravery is a big change. Excpecially for the main character Tris. She is trying to keep her divergence a secret. So why would she change her life so durastically? If she wanted to stay unnotices, she wouldn't have jumped off of a building, she wouldn't have chosen dauntless, but she wouldn't have lived he dream. She has always dreamed to be dauntless, eversince she was little. She used to watch the trains fly by and see the people jump on and off of the speeding trains. She wanted adventure. That's what she chose, and that's what she got.

Utopian or unconstitutional?

There are so many technological advancements in the entire Divergent series. However, i'm not entirely sure that I would ever want these particular advancements to happen. They can erase your memory, change your genes, give you serum so you can tell only the truth. They call this a utopian society, but I call it unconstitutional. They take away everything you have ever known. They force you to tell the truth about everything. You are supposed to have a freedom of speech so that you can voice your opinion and talk about what you want to talk about. You should never be forced to forget your childhood or tell your deep dark secrets to the entire society. Why would anyone call that utopian?

Utopia

True or false: there is some time of rebellion in every Utopian society?

In my opinion it's true. Why? Authors know that there will never be a such thing as a " perfect" world. It isn't very likely that there isn't going to be at least one person in the society who is selfminded. The government can't expect to control everything and everyone without the people becoming infuriated at the lack of freedom. Once the people in the story realize the ammount of enforced laws and regulations of their city, town, country or even Nation, they will know that something has to change.

Once the characters get even the slightest sense of freedom that is what they are going to work towards. What is the first thing tthey will do when they realize the intensity of the governments control? Rebel, revolt and essentially overthrow.
