The main character in the book “Ready Player One” is Wade. In the beginning of the novel Wade was portrayed as a poor boy living in the trailer park. As the story progressed and the plot developed he began to change. Wade has lived nearly his whole life in the virtual reality video game called the OASIS. In this virtually reality anything is possible. After the creator of the game passed away they read his will. In his will he stated that before he passed he created a competition that put his multi-billion dollar fortune up for grabs. The players had to compete within the virtual reality of the OASIS. The competition was based on the games creator and his childhood. Wade began researching him and within five years Wades name was the first to come up on the leaderboard. Wade became famous. However he wasn’t famous in reality. His avatar Parzival was the one that became famous. Parzival (Wade) came in contact with another avatar named art3mis. He had a crush on her famous avatar since he was little and now he saw her in the game. His thoughts of love interfered with the contest and art3emis took the lead. Companies needed help cracking the first clue of the contest. One company took it so far they discovered Parzival's real name and location. The company began to attack Wade’s house and killed several people while trying to kill Wade. After wades avatar hit the leaderboard it was chaos in the gaming world .especially when art3mis took the lead with the second part of the three part contest. Wade ran into many other companies and avatars willing to pay him for help with the contest. Wade took nearly every deal and began gaining access to other parts of the OASIS. After a long hard few years Wade won the contest losing the lives of his friends and family on the way. He became a billionaire and his life changed. However his attitude didn’t change. He was still a good person and didn’t let wealth change that. Wade went from a poor boy in a trailer to a rich man in the city."After five long years the copper key had finally been found, by an eight-teen year old kid living in a trailerpark on the outskirts of OaklahomaCity. That kid was me"(Cline,8). Wade showed that if you work hard and you are determined enough you can accomplish anything; including becoming a billionaire.
