In the book divergent, as well as Insurgent, I think the colors of the factions may be representative. The main character Beatrice was born into the Abnegation faction which is gray and later moved to Dauntless which is black. The two colors are closely related and often reffered to together. This shows how closely related bravery and selflessness truly are. You have to be brave to be selfless and risk your own life for someone else. Also red yellow and blue are often colors that are together. They are primary colors to represent the other three factions of amity, candor and erudite. These factions are strongly linked together because they are peace, honesty and intelligence. Honesty and inteligents are both factors of peace. However when Black, red, yellow, gray, and blue there will always be an ugly color because the colors will clash.
In insurgent that is exactly what happedned. The colors clashed. The personalities clashed. The factions don't mix and neither do their colors. The faction system was destroyed by the individual thoughts and actions of people. Some want factions and some want to be a part of all of them. This caused WAR.
RThat does seem like it would cause some sort of war but the color thing is weird but it sounds like a good book overall as well
ReplyDeleteI have heard about this series and was not sure if i would want to read it. But this makes me alot more interested in reading Divergent and series.
ReplyDeleteI am also reading this series. The way you described the book makes me even more interested in reading the series. Well Done!
ReplyDeleteI am currently reading Allegiant and I totally see that the colors represent the part of the faction's core beliefs. I have never thought of the colors meaning things but now I can see that they directly tie together.
