Divergent hidden meanings

In Divergent there is a lot of hidden symbolism and meanings. On page 58 it states, "I don't think. I just jump"(Roth 58).  During Dauntless initiation, Tris and her fellow initiates must jusmp off of a 7 story building.  Tris is the first to jump from the roof. Being the first jumper is a symbol of  courage, bravery and strength, and the Dauntless have lots of respect for the first jumper. Also, after reading the second book I became more interested in Beatrice (Tris). Particularly her last name... Prior. The definition of Prior is: 1.past; previous 2. preceding in importance or privilege. The meaning of Tris's last name is very important. It shows the importance of the history of the factions as well as Beatrice's family. Past would be used to describe the people that lived in factions before Tris or even the ones that created the faction system. Lastly,
"Um..." I don't know why I hesitate. But "Beatrice" just doesn't sound right anymore.

"Think about it," he says, a faint smile curling his lips. "You don't get to pick again."

A new place, a new name. I can be remade here.

"Tris," I say firmly. (6.82-5). This makes me think or infer that the names of the initiates that she has come to know so well, may not be their actual names because they had the opportunity to restart their lives with a new name and a new personality.
